Saw on tik tok or some where can’t remember a few weeks ago. Anyway, I have some dark chocolate given to me by my friend. I am curious to try out to see and taste whether I like it. This is my creation with out cream and ice cubes.
“Coffee is a widely consumed brewed beverage made from roasted coffee beans. Known for its rich caffeine content, it acts as a natural central nervous system stimulant that enhances alertness, focus, and energy. Studies link coffee to a reduced risk of developing conditions like Type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. It is associated with a lower risk of stroke, heart failure, and protects the liver against diseases like fatty liver and cirrhosis. The caffeine content blocks fatigue-inducing chemicals in the brain, which can improve cognitive function and mood, potentially lowering the risk of depression. Coffee may slightly boost metabolism and fat oxidation.”
“Dark chocolate, containing 70% or more cocoa solids and minimal milk or sugar, is valued for its health benefits. It is rich in flavonoids that improve circulation and may lower blood pressure and heart disease risk. Dark chocolate provides essential nutrients like iron and magnesium, enhances brain function through increased blood flow, stimulates endorphin production, and reduces cortisol levels. Additionally, it acts as a prebiotic for gut health and contains antioxidants that protect the skin from UV damage.”
I am glad to try out. After I had drink about 1/4 c, I realized that I forgotten to take picture. Luckily, I didn’t finish it yet. Anyway, it’s yummy and healthy. Let’s make a cuppa!!!
Ingredients
1/2 cup of strongly brewed strong coffee or your choice
30g of high-quality dark chocolate (70% or higher), finely chopped
1 Tbs of dark cocoa powder, extra for dusting (OPT)
180 ml skim milk or your choice
1-2 Tsp honey or granulated sugar, normal sugar or simple syrup
1/2 Tsp oil (OPT)
Method
Place the finely chopped dark chocolate in the bottom of your favorite coffee mug. Pour freshly brewed strong coffee directly onto the chocolate. Stir vigorously until the chocolate is completely melted and forms a smooth, glossy paste.
Beat in the dark cocoa powder and honey until fully dissolved in mug. Heat milk on the stove. Tik tok did it in a frother until it is hot but not boiling (about 65°C). If you want a velvety cafe texture, use a handheld milk frother to create a thick foam.
Slowly pour the hot milk into the coffee mug and add oil if using. Then gently stirring to mix well. Dust some cocoa powder on top. Serve immediately.
