Got leftovers beef burgers but no more bread and have peas and onion. Decided to cook them as a meat dish to go with rice. At least, I can eat it for a few days and freeze it for later weeks. This another creative way to use burger if you don’t have any more bread or buns to go with.
We have got to eat something. This is a simple meal with meat and vegetable. Most house would have onion and garlic or even have herbs or home plant vegetables and fruits. Use what you have at home rather than keep going out often to the crowded places in time of Covid with many cases keep arising.
I do tempted to get some canned food, so I don’t have to go out be in lockdown in my home. On the other hand, I don’t want to stay in house for too long, got to get out once awhile. Anyway, my simple dinner is comforting, delicious, and colourful. Let’s cook!!!
Ingredients
5 beef burgers meat
200 g peas
1 onion, sliced
1 Tbs garlic minced
1/4 c vegetables stock
Worcestershire sauce
Dashes of balsamic (OPT)
salt
pepper
oil
Method
Thawed beef burger meat and peas on benchtop for 20 minutes from freezer. Once thawed, slice onion and cut beef burger to bite size. Then heat a saucepan on medium high heat, add oil. Cook garlic and onion for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Add beef burger pieces cook until all brown over and cooked.
Then add stock, Worcestershire sauce and a few dashes of balsamic. Bring to a boil and stock has reduced for about 10 minutes. Now add in peas, toss around to mix well for 1-2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with rice and a glass of red wine. Enjoy!!!
Note: You can freeze this dish once it has cooled completely. You can add this dish with other vegetables and rice another day or when you want to eat them. Remember to thaw it and then warmed up in microwave or you can cook them in a saucepan.
