Strawberry orange chia smoothie with passion fruit

Got strawberries leftovers and received two small oranges and two passion fruits from my sister. I only use one.  It has been a while that I have not had smoothie. Since in my pantry I have 1.5 kg chia seeds I best use them before they expired.

Passion fruit has a sweet-but-also-tart flavour, and a fragrant aroma, which adds to the eating experience. It’s hard to compare them to another fruit since they are so unique. It sure did add colour as well to my smoothie.

This is a simple perhaps 5 minutes preparation and chill for 4-6 hours. Testing my patience to have a smoothie. It’s just for one. After drinking I felt the chill but it sure is satisfying to drink. Let’s get smoothie!!!


6 strawberries, stems removed, cut in half
2 mini oranges, skins removed, cut into half
1 passion fruit, cut and scoop the flesh out
2 Tbs chia seeds
1/4 c full cream milk,
3 Tbs milk (OPT)
molasses (OPT)


Put strawberries, oranges, chia seeds, a squirt of molasses and milk in a Nutri Bullet blender. Blend until combined. I added 3 Tbs of milk as I want it a bit milky. Give a couple of stir and pour into glass. Chill for 4-6 hours. Enjoy!!!
