Happy Valentine’s Day everyone. Last minute I decided to make this pudding in the middle of the night and place in fridge till morning.
Woke up run to freeze took out my strawberry coated in chocolate and cut one in half to garnish my orange rice pudding. Then sprinkles chocolate over it. Took this picture. Then grab a spoon and tuck in into my creative pudding made from scratch.
Google: “Rice pudding is a dish made from rice mixed with water or milk and other ingredients such as cinnamon, vanilla and raisins. Variants are used for either desserts or dinners. When used as a dessert, it is commonly combined with a sweetener such as sugar.”
I use arborio rice, double cream, orange juice, and water. My orange rice pudding is beautiful, sweet, with strawberry chocolate crunch and delicious. Let’s cook!!!!
150 g arborio rice
400 ml water
100 ml orange juice (bottle), extra 20 ml
2-3 Tbs double cream
20 ml white wine
1 Tbs margarine, plus extra
1 Tbs oil
1 Tsp minced garlic
Melted chocolate to dip strawberry in
Melt chocolate chips in microwave 3 times: about 30 seconds each time stir gently to make sure no lump and no burn. Set aside. Put kettle on.
Heat oil, margarine in pot over medium heat. Add garlic stir until slightly brown about 1 minutes. Add rice, toast it and stir as soon as rice is toasted turn heat up and pour in wine let it evaporate completely. Slowly add hot boiling water little at a time alternate with orange juice (3 times hot water 2 times orange juice).
Add 1 Tbs double cream. Stir then add the last remaining water and continue until rice is cooked. Almost at the end of cooking time, check flavour: sweetness then add the remaining 20 ml orange juice. Mix well while lowering heat. Add another 1 Tbs double cream and cook for a few minutes.
Remove from hob. Check the flavour and creaminess. Add 1 Tbs double cream if you like more creamy. Garnish with one strawberry dip in melted chocolate, cut one strawberry in half. Sprinkle chocolate sprinkles over. Enjoy!!!!
