“A smoothie is a thick blended drink made from whole fruits, vegetables, leafy greens, and a liquid base (water, milk, or plant-based alternatives), often with added protein, nuts, seeds, or yogurt. Unlike juice, smoothies keep the natural fiber because the whole food is blended rather than strained. A mix of berries, mango, banana, and spinach delivers concentrated vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and iron. This fiber supports regular bowel movements and gut motility. Yogurt-based blends add live probiotics to help maintain a balanced microbiome. Protein (Greek yogurt, protein powder) and healthy fats (chia seeds, flaxseeds, nut butter, avocado) slow digestion, reduce blood sugar spikes, and keep you full longer. Citrus fruits, kiwi, and berries provide vitamin C and antioxidants that protect cells and support collagen production. High-water produce such as cucumber, watermelon, and coconut water helps increase daily fluid intake.”
“Pitted dates are whole dates—the sweet, chewy fruit of the date palm tree—with the hard central seed (pit) mechanically removed for convenience, safety, and ease of use in cooking or snacking. Dates provide about 5 to 7 grams of fiber per 100 grams, supporting regular bowel movements, preventing constipation, and feeding healthy gut bacteria. Contain high levels of plant compounds such as flavonoids, carotenoids, and phenolic acids, which help protect cells from inflammation and oxidative stress. Their high potassium and magnesium content helps regulate blood pressure, and studies suggest regular date consumption may help lower total cholesterol and LDL (“bad”) cholesterol. Rich in natural fructose and glucose, they provide a fast, wholesome energy boost without refined white sugar. Also supply essential micronutrients including copper, potassium, calcium, and vitamin K. Can be chopped and added to cakes, puddings, salads, and grain dishes, or stuffed with nut butter; eaten on their own as a quick, sweet treat; or blended into energy balls, smoothies, or homemade date paste to replace refined sugar.”
“A blueberry is a small, sweet, nutrient-dense fruit from perennial flowering shrubs in the section Cyanococcus of the genus Vaccinium. Regular blueberry intake helps protect against oxidative stress and supports cognitive function, memory, and executive performance in both older adults and children. Blueberries may help lower blood pressure by improving blood flow and vessel dilation, and their soluble fiber helps reduce “bad” LDL cholesterol. As a low-glycemic fruit with moderate natural sugar and high fiber, they promote fullness, support insulin sensitivity, and suit balanced metabolic diets. Anthocyanins and other plant compounds protect cells from DNA damage and may help ease joint discomfort and stiffness from conditions such as osteoarthritis. They also provide key bone-supporting nutrients, including vitamin K, manganese, and trace minerals.”

Pitted dates puree
Combine dates and water in a small pot over medium heat. Cook for 2-4 minutes or until dates are very soft. Add bicarb of soda and stir, then set aside to cool completely about 1 hour.
Note: Ensure your cooked date mixture has cooled down to at least room temperature before adding it to the blender so it doesn’t warm up your smoothie.
Blueberries mints ice cream smoothie
In Nutri Bullet, add in blueberries, mints leaves, 2 Tbs pitted dates puree first and milk. Make sure the lid is closed thighly. Blitz for 30 seconds first. Because pitted dates were pre-softened with bicarb soda, they will incorporate seamlessly without leaving any chewy bits behind.
If the smoothie is too thick, splash in a tiny bit of water. Pour into a glass, and refridgrate for 30 minutes to 45 minutes. Just before serving, garnish with ice cream and sprinkles chocolate sprinkles or extra mints leaves. Enjoy!!!
