I’m glad I found this picture again. I baked it in 2014; it was my first time baking a cake, and I had to rewrite the recipe after searching for a similar one with a picture that closely resembled mine.
A marble cake in a loaf pan is made from one vanilla or plain batter, half of which is mixed with cocoa or melted chocolate, then layered and gently swirled together in a rectangular loaf tin before baking.
I don’t remember the size of the loaf pan. It looks a bit dry with not much marbling, so I’ll rewrite the recipe and post it again. Thank you, God, for helping me find it and write it up again!
Ingredients
200 g unsalted butter
200 g granulated sugar
200 g plain flour
3 eggs
2 Tbs milk
2 Tbs cocoa powder
1 Tsp vanilla essence
a pinch of salt
Method
Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease the loaf pan and line the bottom and sides with parchment paper, about 2 inches(5 cm) of overhang on each side. If you like, you can grease and flour the dish instead of parchment paper.
Cream the butter and sugar, beat in the eggs and vanilla, then gently fold in the flour and salt. Divide one-third of the batter into a separate bowl and mix it with the cocoa powder and milk. Layer half the vanilla batter, all the chocolate batter, and the remaining vanilla batter in the pan, then run a knife through to create a marble effect.
Bake for about 40-50 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 20 minutes in the pan and 20 minutes on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy!!!
Note: Do check the right amount of time on the recipe for marble cake in loaf pan. I had browsed a handful the time ranging 35-60 minutes. I apologies as I can’t remember the right time it should be.
