Bought instant mixed fruit-flavoured oats and today I’m using blueberry flavour with blueberries, chocolate sprinkles, and salted caramel bites, emphasizing gratitude for food and a dislike for waste.
“Blueberries are nutrient-rich, low-calorie berries known for their antioxidant properties, particularly due to high anthocyanin content. They offer various health benefits, including enhanced cognitive function, reduced cardiovascular disease risk, and improved blood sugar regulation. Rich in vitamins, fiber, and prebiotics, they contribute to heart health, immune support, gut health, and skin health by aiding collagen production. Regular consumption may also help slow cognitive decline and improve memory.”
“Chocolate sprinkles, or hagelslag in the Netherlands, are small chocolate pieces used as toppings for various foods like baked goods and ice cream. They offer a crunchy texture, potential antioxidant benefits when made from quality cocoa, and can enhance mood. Dark chocolate varieties also contain beneficial flavonoids.”
“Salted caramel bites are no-bake, healthy sweet treats made from dates, nuts, and sea salt, providing sustained energy and nutrients as a vegan, gluten-free alternative to candy. They make for a great pre-workout or afternoon snack and can be enjoyed as a guilt-free dessert, often dipped in dark chocolate or frozen. Some variations include added benefits like collagen and probiotics for overall health.”
My late dinner that is healthy and satisfying. Let’s be thankful and cook!!!
Ingredients
1 packet of instant strawberry flavoured oat
12 blueberries, wash and dry
chocolate sprinkles
salted caramel bites
Method
Empty the oat packet into a bowl. Add in milk. Give a couple of stirs. Place into the microwave, and cook the oats with milk for 30 seconds. Open the microwave door and stir a couple of times.
Cling wrap the bowl and cook for a further 30 seconds. Now open the door and remove the cling wrap. Add the blueberries in. Stir a couple of times. Then cover with the cling wrap and cook again for another 30 seconds. Now it’s ready.
Open the microwave door and use a tea towel or mitten to remove the bowl of cooked oats from the microwave. Next scatter some chocolate sprinkles and salted caramel bites. Enjoy with a hot cup of coffee or tea!!!
Note: You don’t need any sugar or honey. You can add strawberries, figs, raspberries, and blackberries instead blueberries. You can create your own garnish.
