
Time again to harvest the plum in my back garden. My plum flesh is dark purple. Glad to have enough to share with family. I am going to add some to my blueberries and strawberries that I bought yesterday. Thought, why not make a smoothie as it is a very hot day? I decided to make strawberry sauce again since I last made it 4 years ago.
Search and found my strawberry sauce recipe. I have written down the strawberry sauce recipe for you. For a change, instead of orange juice from my previous recipe, I decided to add lime juice from my sister, who had given me 4 of her homegrown limes to balance the sweetness. I didn’t use all of them, just 1 lime.
I didn’t peel plum skins. Let’s start with a red-coloured drink as we begin the New Year. I am happy that the combination is well balanced; not too sweet nor sour. It’s a really cooling drink to have and a great drink to share. Let’s make them.
Ingredients
Strawberry sauce
250 g strawberries, stems removed, cut into bite size
2 Tbs granulated sugar
1 Tbs lime juice
1-2 Tbs water (OPT)
Additional ingredients
4 plums, removed seeds, cut halved, divided
100 g blueberries, washed, divided
1/4 c thickened cream, divided
2 Tbs lime juice or water, divided
Method
Strawberry sauce
Place cut up strawberries, granulated sugar and 1 Tbs juice in a pot. Bring it to simmer on low heat, stir until strawberries completely softened about 10 minutes. Removed from hob and let it cool completely.
Bring out Nutri Bullet. Blitz the cooled down strawberries in Nutri Bullet with 1 Tbs water until smooth. Pass through a sieve for an extra smooth puree sauce. Place in an airtight container and in fridge. Serve with ice cream, meat or as garnish for cake. I am adding it to my additional ingredients.
Additional ingredients
Use the same Nutri Bullet, add 2 Tbs strawberry sauce, halved plums, halved blueberries, and 1/8 c thickened cream. Blitz until puree. Do in batches. Pour into glass or jug. Repeat with remaining, and blitz until puree, then pour into glass or into the jug with the first batch puree. Chill in fridge for a few hours about 2-4 hours or longer. Enjoy!!!
