Strawberry fig mini tomato apricot jam smoothie with green shredded coconut

Got abundance of figs n my garden, I decided to make smoothie with leftover mini tomato, green shredded coconut and apricot jam. To that I have added some strawberries and milk.

Google: “In simple terms, figs are technically not a fruit ― they are inverted flowers. Fig trees don’t flower like apples and peaches. Their flowers bloom inside the pear-shaped pod, which later matures into the fruit we eat. Each flower then produces a single, one-seeded, hard-shelled fruit called achene ― that’s what gives the fig the crunch we know ― and the fig is made up of multiple achene. So, when we eat a fig, we are actually eating multiple fruits. A fig is a nutritious fruit that provides a lot of calcium and fiber. People can choose to eat fresh or dried figs, but they should be mindful that dried figs contain more calories and sugar.”

Do you know mini tomatoes are called cherry tomatoes? “Cherry tomatoes are the small, round guys with thin skins that squirt juice everywhere when you bite into them. They’re super sweet and have a high water content, and they come in many colours.”

“The sweet-tart flavour of apricot jam goes outrageously well with something creamy, like labneh (or cream cheese, or ricotta, or…you get the picture) on toast made from really good bread. Eating fruit jams can help boost the health of the heart by providing a range of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. Therefore, the nutrient-rich jams could reduce the risk of stroke, heart attack, and all other potential cardiovascular diseases.”

Well, all the ingredient in my smoothie is healthy. It’s a great combination of fruits, jam and milk. Instead of having meat vegetables as a meal, I am having smoothie. Its sure is filling, comforting and delicious. Let’s make it.

4 plum figs, stems removed and cut into bite size
4 strawberries, stems removed and cut to bite size
4 mini tomatoes, cut into bite size
1 Tbs apricot jam
1/4 c milk
