This is also one of my favourite instant noodles. I bought it at a nearby supermarket on sale. I have three pork balls left and some bok choy. I have not made my own har mee for a while as I can get instant har mee. For some of you who don’t know what har mee is.
Google: “Har mee is a popular prawn noodle soup, especially in Malaysia and Singapore, known for its rich, flavorful broth. It’s a classic hawker dish that features a combination of noodles, usually yellow noodles and rice vermicelli, cooked in a prawn-based broth. The broth is made by simmering prawn heads and shells, often along with pork or chicken stock, to create a deep, savory flavour. Cooked prawns, pork (slices or ribs), fish cake, boiled eggs, and vegetables like bean sprouts, water spinach (kangkong), and fried shallots are often added. Har mee is known for its rich, prawny flavour, often with a hint of spice from sambal.”
I love to create with different ingredients. I admit if I make my own, it will definitely have prawny flavour, and all the required ingredients as mentioned in Google. The flavour of instant noodles has slight prawny flavour, and no sambal. Yet, it’s tasty, comforting delicious with my addition of my own ingredients. Let’s cook!!!
Ingredients
1 packet har mee instant noodles soup
3 pork balls
some bite size buk choy
water
Method
Put kettle on. Bring out pork balls from freezer, thawed and place in a bowl along with buk choy and place a plate below for easy to bring out from microwave. Once water is boiled. Pour enough water to cook pork balls and buk choy in microwave for 5 minutes. Meantime, open the instant noodles and condiments.
Be careful bringing out the hot cooked pork balls and buk choy. Empty the har mee and condiments into the hot bowl with pork balls and buk choy. Gives a couple of stirs and put back into microwave to cook further about 6-7 minutes until har mee is softened and cooked. Bring out from microwave. Enjoy!!!
