Craving for quiche today. What is quiche you ask? Search google and through words of mouth from chef I know; Quiche is a savoury meal made with pastry crust and without pastry crust filled with eggs, milk or cream, and cheese, meat, seafood or vegetables.

In fact, it can be any ingredients you like such as legume root vegetables or even can food. Quiche by another chef preferred will say it can be served hot or cold. Its origin is of French cuisine but is also popular in many countries, home cooking; known as having a party food or on winter cold day and is a comfort food for me.

I am using a simple and easy ingredient to make a comfort meal as I have most basic ingredients in my fridge and pantry. Though it’s not looking good but its taste yummy and comfort in my stomach. So let get cooking!!!


225 g bacon, chopped
1 small onion, blended
1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 cups self-raising flour
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 packet kale and spinach, blanch dry and blended
250 g smooth ricotta cheese
4 tomatoes, chopped
Salt & freshly ground pepper, to season


Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease a pie dish. Combine ham, onion, kale and spinach, flour, tomatoes, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Scatter over base of pie dish.

Whisk eggs, ricotta and milk together in a large jug and pour over ham mixture. Then sprinkle Parmesan. Cook for about 45 -70 minutes or until puffed and golden. Serve warm.

Note: oven temperature may vary you may need less or more time. You can put any ingredients you like.
