Bought a packet of colourful salad and my friend gave me a bottle of jam. I forgot to get burger meat. So, let’s make salad with bread. This can be meatless meal.
“Mesclun is a salad mix of young greens and herbs from Provence, France, indicated by the Provençal word mesclar meaning “to mix”. It typically contains tender greens like arugula, chervil, lettuce, and endive, with modern mixes including spinach and various other greens. High in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as antioxidants, it helps combat oxidative stress and inflammation. Low in calories and high in volume, it supports weight control, aids digestion, and contributes to managing blood pressure and cholesterol due to its potassium and fiber content, while the high vitamin K is important for bone health.”
“Strawberry jam is a sweet spread made from cooked strawberries, sugar, pectin, and acid, offering antioxidants and vitamin C while being high in sugar, requiring moderation in consumption. It contains ellagic acid, which may help combat free radicals and inflammation, and supports immune function and collagen production. As a high-sugar food, it provides quick energy and contains nutrients that may improve cholesterol levels and vascular function.”
