Air fryer rump steak cauliflower cherry tomatoes sliced black olives and mushroom puree

Rump steak prices went up, but I still bought it because I was craving it. I also found cauliflower and bought it since I haven’t had it in a while. Also, it is time to bring out the air fryer to do the work. Got some sliced mushrooms that doesn’t looks fresh, will make it into thick puree as sauce. Adding red medley cherry tomatoes with wrinkles and black olives slices for some colours and to finish off.

Ingredients

Air fryer cauliflower

1 small cauliflower, florets
2 Tbs oil
1 1/2 Tsp cayenne powder
1 Tsp garlic powder
1/2 Tsp onion powder
salt
black pepper

Air fryer rump steak

1 rump steak
oil
salt
black peppercorn, grind
spray oil

Vegetables and sauce

6 sliced black olives
4 red medley cherry tomatoes
4 yellow medley cherry tomatoes
130 g sliced mushrooms
20 g sliced mushrooms, cut to tiny bits
5-7 Tbs milk
oil
salt
black pepper

Method

Air fryer cauliflower first

Set the temperature of air fryer to 200°C. Heat it for 5 minutes. Place the cauliflower in a large metal bowl. Combine cayenne powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and black pepper in a small bowl. Use a small sieve to sift half of the spice mixture evenly over the cauliflower. Toss to combine. Sift over the remaining spice mixture and toss.

Drizzle oil over the cauliflower and toss to coat, making sure the oil coat cauliflower well. Now bring out the hot cup and carefully place marinated cauliflower in the cup and place into the machine. Cook for 13 to 15 minutes, turning halfway through. I wanted my cauliflower a little crispiness; I add added 1-2 minutes extra. Some cauliflower are a bit charred.

Note: Don’t overcrowd cauliflower florets. Do in batches. Shaking the cup every 3-5 minutes for even browning. Don’t put in extra 1-2 minutes, cauliflower will turn charred.

Removed the cooked cauliflower to a plate, cover with tented foil. Set aside.

Air fryer rump steak

Rub oil, salt, and lot of black pepper all over the rump steak and place it in the lightly sprayed oil and lined foil tray. Next place the rump steak tray in the air fryer cup and into the machine, cook rump steak for 6 minutes. Bring out the cup and turn rump steak over, spray a tiny bit of oil on the rump and tiny bit on the foil tray; roast for a further 6 minutes. When rump steak done to your likeness. Let rump steak rest for 5-7 minutes, before plating up.

Vegetables and sauce

Meantime, using nutri bullet, add in the 130 g sliced mushrooms and 5 Tbs milk. Blitz to thick pureed. Season with salt and black pepper. Transfer to a bowl, add microwave the mushroom puree with 2 Tbs milk and the tiny bits sliced mushrooms for 1 minute to warmed up. Bring out and set aside..

Assemble the plate

Place some cooked cauliflower on the top of the plate, followed by yellow medley cherry tomatoes on the left and wrinkles red medley tomatoes on the right. Now the rump steak had rested, transfer to the bottom of the plate. Place black olives on top of steak on the right and mushroom puree sauce on the left of rump steak. Enjoy with a glass of red wine!!!
