Ham cheese salad on pane de casa

Bought pane de casa bread from Aldi. Then got a packet of mixed salad and sliced ham from Woollies. Weekend simple lunch that are colourful, creative and healthy. No hassle of lots of utensil to wash.

“Sliced ham, derived from cured, smoked, or cooked pork, is typically cut into thin pieces and used in sandwiches and snacks. It’s rich in amino acids, selenium, zinc, and vitamins B6 and B12, promoting muscle growth and energy production, while also helping with weight control due to its high protein content. However, it often contains high levels of salt, which can elevate blood pressure, and is associated with saturated fat and sodium risks linked to heart disease. Eat in moderation.

“Pane de casa (Italian for “house bread”) is a traditional Italian loaf known for its crunchy, dark, and thick crust with a light, airy, and open-textured crumb. It is a rustic, high-hydration bread often made with simple ingredients—flour, water, yeast, salt, and often semolina—providing a chewy, artisan texture suitable for dipping in olive oil.”
