Fig pear nectarine basil and oregano juice

I have leftovers fresh basil and oregano, I don’t like to waste food. Abundant of figs, pear don’t look fresh, bought nectarine on sale. Today, I am daring to try adding herbs to my smoothie. I browsed a handful of herbs smoothie. I have not come across any recipes that have oregano. Maybe there’s some, somewhere that I didn’t find them.

“Yes, basil and oregano can enhance smoothies’ flavour and nutrition, especially in green or fruit-based recipes. Basil pairs well with strawberries, peaches, blueberries, mango, and citrus, while Oregano should be used sparingly due to its strong flavour. Fresh leaves should be washed, tough stems removed, and it’s best to start with a small amount and adjust to taste.”

Oregano is rich in antioxidants and compounds that fight bacteria and fungi, and is used for lung congestion and digestive issues. Basil contains Vitamin K and Manganese, along with anti-inflammatory properties, and its essential oils help combat infections.”

It’s good to eat fresh fruits on their own. I don’t have strong teeth to bite the fruits. I rather add them with liquid to make smoothie or juice. Let’s make use of Nutri Bullet!!!

Ingredients

6 plum figs, cut to bite size, divided
1 Packham pear, cut into bite size, removed stem and pits, divided
2 nectarines, cut into bite size, removed seeds, divided
3 stalks of oregano, tear the leaves, discard stems, divided
6 stalks of basil, tear the leaves, discard stems, divided
1/2 c skim milk

Method

Do in batches. In Nutri Bullet add half figs, pears, nectarines, oregano leaves, basil leaves and skim milk. Blitz until pureed/ thick liquid. If too thick, add some water. Pour into tall glass. Repeat with the remaining half ingredients. Then pour into another tall glass. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours or less if you want it not too chill about 20-30 minutes.

Before serving, bring out from fridge for about 5 minutes and gives a couple of stirs. Enjoy with your breakfast of cereal or toast!!! I had mine with hard boiled egg sandwiches.
