Banana chocolate spooky halloween

Halloween treat for kids to do themselves

I decided to make this banana chocolate spooky for Halloween after I saw a cooking program. I have this one banana leftover. I was eating halfway through, and my mind was telling me let’s do something spooky. I found my chocolate chips were expired; I don’t like to waste them. I melted them and dunked the three banana pieces in to coat. Then I placed eyeballs on them as well as some sprinkles and squirted red and blue food colouring to get rid of it too.

Google: “Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows’ Day. It is at the beginning of the observance of Allhallowtide, the time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints, martyrs, and all the faithful departed.”

Guess this would be great for younger kids to create something different and scary with adult supervision. My creation is more of a fun creation rather than really spooky. Let’s get something spooky!!!

Ingredients

100 g melting dark chocolate chips
banana, cut into chunky
eyeballs
colourful sprinkles
red food gel
blue food colouring
black straw

Method

Place chocolate chips in a metal bowl that sit tightly in a pot of hot boiling water. Stir from the middle out until the chocolate chips are melted. Switch off the hob. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Peel the banana skins, cut both ends off, then cut into chunky bites. Use a black straw, cut into three parts. Prick through the centre of cut chunky banana. Dip into the melted chocolate, making sure banana is covered all over with melted chocolate.

Quickly place eyeballs on the banana chocolate, and sprinkles colourful sprinkles over and drizzle red and blue food gel and colouring. Place in fridge until hardened. You can remove the black straws; I prefer it on. Serve it to the kids. Enjoy!!!!

Note: You can make more by doubling the ingredients. You can use marshmallow, white melting chocolate chips. Decorate your scary design.
