Bought a box of Aeroplane: blue heaven jelly and decided to finished off the last bits of dried blue pea flowers. Also try using my new design silicon mould. I just tryout a small packet of the blue heaven jelly.
Google: “Blue pea flowers, also known as butterfly pea flowers or Clitoria ternatea, are the vibrant blue blossoms of a fast-growing, perennial climbing vine native to Southeast Asia. They are known for their striking blue colour, which can be used to create a naturally blue tea and also as a food colouring. The flowers are commonly used to make a caffeine-free herbal tea that turns a brilliant blue when steeped in hot water. The blue hue of the flowers makes them a popular natural food dye, used to colour rice, desserts, and other dishes. The tea’s colour can change to purple or pink with the addition of lemon or other acidic ingredients, offering a fun and visually appealing experience. In traditional medicine, particularly in Asia, blue pea flowers are believed to have various health benefits, including antioxidant and cognitive-enhancing properties. The main side effects include upset stomach and nausea as well as allergic reactions. As with most herbal teas, butterfly pea flower tea may interact with certain medications.”
I am glad it turned out beautiful design in my new silicon mould and colour. It’s refreshing and delicious. Let’s cook!!!
Ingredients
1 Aeroplane blue heaven jelly
1 Tbs blue pea flowers
water
oil, to grease mould
Method
Wash thoroughly, the new silicone mould with hot soapy water. Wipe dry, really dry. Air in the sun for 25 minutes. Then rinse with soapy water again. Wipe really dry. Now grease the silicone mould with oil. Set aside. Place blue pea flower in a small bowl, and set aside.
Put the kettle on. Open the Aeroplane jelly packet. Empty the jelly into a deep metal bowl. Once hot water boiled; pour 1-1 1/2 Tbs of hot boiling water into the bowl with blue pea flowers to seeps; stir to mixed well and set aside for 5 minutes.
Next pour 250 ml of hot water into the jelly powder in the bowl. Stir until powder dissolved well. Then add 200 ml of cool tap water and stir the jelly powder again. After 5 minutes up for blue pea flowers. Use a strainer, strain the juice of blue pea flowers into another bowl. Discard the dried blue pea flowers. Using the same strainer, strain the juice into the blue heaven jelly.
Now pour the jelly mixture into the new silicon mould and place on a plate. Stir to mixed well again. Then put into fridge for 6 hours or overnight. I place in for 6 hours; transfer to freezer for 45 minutes to 1 hour for easy to unmould. Serve when ready to eat. Enjoy!!!
