Bought sliced beef on sale with garlic sticks. Then my mom gave me two onions. Today, my simple dinner is spicy. Garlic sticks are garlic chives that resemble green beans. They have a strong garlic flavour.
Google: “Rump steak, a cut from the rear of the cow, offers a good balance of flavour and nutrition. It’s a rich source of protein, essential for muscle building and repair, and also provides iron, zinc, and B vitamins. While not as tender as some other cuts, its robust flavour and versatility make it a popular choice for grilling, pan-frying, or using in stews and stir-fries.”
My dinner is spicy, flavourful, garlicky and delicious. Let’s cook!!!!
Ingredients
500 g sliced beef rump, bought
1 bunch garlic sticks, cut about 1-2 inches long
1/2 onion, sliced
2 Tbs garlic onion chili sauce
1 Tbs garlic minced
1 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs oyster sauce
oil
black pepper
chili flakes
salt (OPT)
Method
Marinade the sliced rump with soy sauce, oyster sauce and garlic onion sauce. Set in fridge for 1-2 hours, preferably but if you don’t have much time 30-45 minutes is ok.
In a large non-stick frying pan, heat 1 Tbs oil over high heat. Cook rump, in 2 batches, for 3 to 5 minutes until browned and tender. Set aside on a plate covered with foil.
Add in another 1 Tbs oil, onion and minced garlic, cook for 30 seconds. Next add in garlic sticks, toss around and cook until tender about 5 minutes. Now back in the browned sliced rump and season with black pepper, toss to mixed well with garlic sticks for 2 minutes. Check seasoning. I added a pinch of salt.
Spoon everything onto a oval deep bowl and scatter some chili flakes. Served with rice. Enjoy!!!
