Went to supermarket to get roast chicken and salad. But were told they are not safe as contaminated. The only packet salad is coleslaw. Bought a small packet of coleslaw and got Peking duck flavoured noodles soup from Aldi. My quick lunch is Western and Eastern combination.
Google: “Coleslaw or cole slaw (from the Dutch term koolsla [ˈkoːlslaː], meaning ‘cabbage salad’), also known simply as slaw, is a side dish consisting primarily of finely shredded raw cabbage with a salad dressing or condiment, commonly either vinaigrette or mayonnaise. This dish originated in the Netherlands in the 18th century. Coleslaw prepared with vinaigrette may benefit from the long lifespan granted by pickling. Coleslaw has evolved into various forms globally. The only consistent ingredient in coleslaw is raw cabbage, while other ingredients and dressings vary widely. Some popular variations include adding red cabbage, pepper, shredded carrots, onions, grated cheese, pineapple, pears, or apples, and using dressings like mayonnaise or cream.”
“Coleslaw can be a healthy side dish, but it depends on the ingredients and preparation. When made with fresh ingredients and a light dressing, coleslaw offers vitamins, minerals, and fiber, supporting digestive health and overall wellness.”
Yes, roast chicken can be a healthy choice, especially when compared to fried chicken, as it’s a good source of protein and contains essential vitamins and minerals, while being lower in fat and calories. High in Protein: Roasted chicken is an excellent source of protein, which is essential for muscle growth and repair. It contains vitamin B12 and iron, which are crucial for maintaining good health and supporting various bodily functions. Be mindful of sodium content, especially if buying pre-cooked rotisserie chicken, as some stores inject the chicken with solutions containing added salt.“
My meal is flavourful, comforting, colourful and delicious. Let’s cook!!!
Ingredients
1 packet Peking duck flavoured noodles soup
1 small handful of coleslaw
a few pieces of roast chicken
water
Method
Put kettle on. Empty the packet of Peking duck noodles into a bowl with the condiments. Once water boiled, pour enough of hot water into the bowl. Scatter coleslaw over the noodles. Cut the chicken into bite size. Keep the rest in an air tight container. Then put in fridge when it had cooled completely for another day.
Place the bowl with noodles and coleslaw into microwave. Microwave for 6-7 minutes until noodles are softened. Remove from microwave, add in chicken pieces. Stir to mixed well, scatter black sesame seeds, and squirt some chili sauce over the top. Serve immediately.
