Got strawberries and blackberries on sale. By now you would know me, I only buy food when they are on sale. I admit I am a fan of smoothie or fruits puree person. I find it easy to have fruits intake through smoothie or drink. Do drink smoothie in moderation.
Google: “A smoothie is a beverage made by puréeing ingredients in a blender. A smoothie commonly has a liquid base, such as fruit juice or milk, yogurt or ice cream. Other ingredients may be added, including fruits, vegetables, non-dairy milk, crushed ice, whey powder or nutritional supplements.”
“Smoothies rich in fiber and protein keep you full longer, while those made with fruits and vegetables increase your daily vegetable servings. As long as you are drinking smoothies made from a variety of fruits and vegetables and low in refined sugar, there would be no problem with consuming smoothies every day.”
Today, I am making use of my abundance of figs in my garden and adding it to berries which are my favourite fruits. I drink smoothie to keep me full longer as I only have one main meal at night. Occasionally instant noodles for lunch which is not healthy. Anyway, here’s my healthy intake of fruits that are delicious. Let’s make smoothie!!!
Ingredients
6 strawberries, stems removed, cut into half
4 Tbs strawberry yoghurt
4 figs, stems removed cut into wedges
1 fig, stem remove and cut into wedges for garnish (OPT)
125 g blackberries
1/4 c skim milk or full cream milk, plus extra (OPT)
Method
Place strawberries, blackberries, figs, yoghurt and milk in Nutri Bullet. Blitz them until pureed. Pour into glasses about 3/4 c and then add more milk (OPT). Place in fridge to chill for 1-2 hours. Just before drinking, stir again to loosen the puree, then add 2 wedges of figs. Serve chill and enjoy!!!!
