Since my last red wine smoothie, I just can’t stop wanting to try a different method and found that I can freeze red wine in my ice cubes tray. You do have to plan ahead a bit for this drink, because the wine needs to freeze for at least 4-5 hours. Do this in advance and make more: you can keep some frozen wine in your fridge, ready and waiting at all times.
Google: “You only need two to three ingredients: red or white wine, strawberry daiquiri or piña colada mix, and fresh or frozen fruit (fruit is optional). Below are two different ways to make slushies. You can make them either in the freezer or in the blender.”
I have added fresh raspberries and blackberries to my red wine with some ice cubes I have made in advance. Make sure you use less expensive wine and something sweet type. I use red Moscato. I freeze my glass in the freezer for 10 minutes to chill. Let’s be patience and make it next day!!!
Ingredients
1 bottle of red Moscato
180 g blackberries
150 g raspberries
ice cubes
Method
Do in advance at least 4-5 hours or even overnight.
Pour wine in ice cube trays. Freeze until firm, at least 4-5 hours or overnight for later.
The next day
Do it in two batches. Take 6 wine cubes out of tray and place in a blender along 90 g blackberries, 75 g raspberries and 4 water ice cubes. Blend until smooth. Repeat with the remaining. Pour into a metal bowl freeze for about 1 hours.
Bring out from freezer, stand for 20 minutes on the bench. Then ladle into glasses. I freeze one glass that I want to drink for about 10 minutes. The remaining glasses in fridge. After 10 minutes in freezer, remove the glass from freezer, place 2 water ice cubes in. Enjoy!!! Brrr!!! It’s so cold.
