Shin ram yun pork balls fish cake mushrooms and lettuce soup

Got leftovers pork balls, mushrooms, and lettuce. Bought Thai fish cake for a change though not on sale.

“Thai fish cakes (Tod Mun Pla) are a popular appetizer made from white fish paste and red curry paste, served with a sweet and spicy cucumber relish. They have a chewy texture, are rich in protein and low in fat, and promote heart and brain health while providing essential iron and calcium.”

“Pork balls, known as gongwan or Lion’s Head meatballs in Chinese cuisine, are savoury meatballs made from minced pork, starch, and seasoning. Valued for their bouncy and chewy texture, they provide a good source of protein and are versatile, suitable for soups, noodles, pan-frying, or bento boxes. Their marination and cooking in broth or sauce enhance their savory flavour.”

“Sliced mushrooms, including varieties like cremini, white button, and shiitake, are convenient and nutritious, being low-calorie and rich in antioxidants, B vitamins, prebiotics, and vitamin D, which support immunity and heart health. They contain potassium for blood pressure regulation and beta-glucans that may lower cholesterol. Their high fiber content makes them a great plant-based meat alternative, and some studies suggest they may reduce cancer risk.”

“Lettuce is a hydrating, low-calorie leafy green rich in vitamins A, K, and folate, promoting weight loss, bone strength, heart health, and digestion. Darker varieties like Romaine have the highest nutrient content. It aids in hydration, supports eye and immune health, and helps manage blood pressure and cardiovascular health due to its potassium and folate. Lettuce contains anti-inflammatory compounds that protect against cell damage and may assist with sleep due to substances like lactucarium.”
