Shin ram yun noodles soup with fried combination balls buk choy and white sesame seeds

Today, I’m having my favourite noodles: shin ram yun. I have leftover buk choy from lunch and added fried combo balls I bought yesterday, even though they weren’t on sale. I also decided to garnish my noodles with leftover white sesame seeds.

Google: “Buk choy, a cruciferous green vegetable, is a member of the Brassica family. It’s also called pak choi or Chinese cabbage. Unlike most cruciferous vegetables grown in the United States, such as cabbages, Brussels sprouts, and broccoli, this particular variety of Brassica doesn’t form a “head”. Instead, it’s a non-heading cabbage that has thick crunchy white stems and broad green leaves.”

“Buk choy help to reduce your risk of developing cancer. It’s full of cancer-fighting compounds such as vitamins C and E, beta-carotene, folate, and selenium. Vitamin C, vitamin E, and beta-carotene are powerful antioxidants that can help to prevent cell damage from free radicals, which may help to lower your cancer risk. Selenium may help to slow the growth rate of tumours. Buk choy is also full of fiber, which keeps your digestive system healthy and may help to prevent colon cancer. Buk choy may help to lower your risk of developing heart disease in a few ways. For one, it contains folate and vitamin B6.”

“White sesame seeds are seeds from the sesame plant, which are light-coloured after their outer hulls have been removed. They are a good source of protein, fiber, and healthy fats, as well as offering various vitamins and minerals. Some of the benefits associated with white sesame seeds include improved bone health, support for heart health, and potential anti-inflammatory effects. White sesame seeds are packed with essential minerals like calcium, iron, and magnesium, as well as dietary fiber and healthy fats.”

Fried combination balls are minced fish, and pork plus other ingredients and they are rolled up into balls and deep fried. It’s my second favourite ingredients. My healthy, comforting dinner is comforting, keep me warm and delicious. Let’s cook!!!

Ingredients

Stir fry buk choy

3 bunches, stems removed and cut into bite size
1 Tbs minced garlic
1 Tbs oil
1 Tbs mirin sauce
salt
pepper

Shin ram yun, fried combination balls and white sesame seeds

1 packet shin ram yun
6-8 fried combination balls
white sesame seeds
water

Method

Heat a saucepan with oil on medium heat. Once oil is hot, add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then add in buk choy stalks, cook for 3-5 minutes. Next add mirin sauce, toss to mixed well.

Put kettle on. Now add in the leaves part of buk choy and cook for 2-4 minutes. Toss to mixed well. Season with salt and pepper. By now kettle is boiled. Open the shin ram yun packet, empty the noodles and the condiments that comes with it into a bowl. Put the bowl on top of plate for easy to remove from microwave.

Pour enough hot boiling water to cover the noodles. Put enough buk choy and combination balls into the bowl with noodles. Carefully, transfer the bowl and plate with hot boiling water, buk choy and noodles to the microwave. Microwave on high for 6-7 minutes until noodles and combination balls are cooked.

Gently bring out the plate and bowl with hot cooked noodles. Then scatter some white sesame seeds over it. Enjoy with a cup of green tea.
