Google: “The Pane di Casa is a traditional Italian bread with a flavourful, brittle exterior and fluffy center. We get the chewy interior and crisp crust by letting the dough rest in our kitchens for 12 hours. It’s perfect for mopping up marinara sauce, or baking with butter and garlic for rich garlic bread. Serve with cheese, prosciutto and used for the well known bruschetta.”
Well, today I am just eating my pane de casa with salad. It’s a simple, quick, easy and healthy lunch or dinner. I bought this pane de casa as it has a dense, chewy texture and is the perfect complement for pastas and antipasti. Somehow, I never use it on my pasta so, I am going for different way to eat it. Got to be creative and explore the use of the bread.
My lunch is healthy, colourful, comforting and delicious. Let’s make a simple lunch and sit in the backyard sun baking for my bones.
Ingredients
4 slices pane de casa, buttered
mixed salad
tomatoes
basil
salt
pepper
chili flakes (OPT)
Method
Place the pane de casa on plate. Then add enough salad, season with salt and pepper. Sprinkles chili flakes as I must have chili in my diet. Followed by tomatoes wedges and top with basil leaves from my garden pot. Enjoy with a glass of Moscato or coffee or tea or limoncello.
